Montenegrin tennis player Danka Kovinić received a special invitation from the International Olympic Committee and will participate in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
Kovinić will participate in the Games for the second time in her career, since she was also in Rio 2016, while she missed the performance in Tokyo due to injury.
Due to an injury, Danka has been out of action for ten months.
"The invitation to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris is a reward for your persistence, self-belief and immense dedication that you have shown throughout your career. Your sports path was not easy. You went through many challenges and obstacles, but your determination and passion for tennis always led you forward. Your success is an example to all of us of how important work, discipline and faith in your dreams are," reads the message of COK president Dušan Simonović.
The Olympic Games are scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
