The Spanish tennis player, Rafael Nadal, will not play at the last Grand Slam of the season - the US Open.
Nadal gave up, and wrote on social networks that he is not 100 percent ready.
"Hello everyone, I am writing today to inform you that I will not be participating in this year's US Open, a place that I have great memories of. I will miss the special nights full of electricity and charge at 'Artur Ashe', but I don't think I am ready to give 100 percent this time. Thank you to all my fans in the USA, I'll miss you and see you on another occasion. I wish everyone the best of luck at the always amazing US Open," said Nadal.
The Spaniard said that he will play in the Laver Cup.
"My next tournament will be the Laver Cup in Berlin," Nadal wrote.
Nadal recently participated in the Olympic Games in Paris - in the second round of the singles he lost to Novak Djokovic, while in the doubles, with Carlos Alkaras, he was stopped in the quarterfinals.
The US Open is scheduled from August 26 to September 8.
