Đoković took the opponent's serve in the fifth and seventh games of the first set and took the lead in the match.
He started the second set well, he broke in the third game for 2:1, and Radu immediately returned the break and equalized.
The Serbian tennis player retaliated with a new break to take a 3:2 lead, and in the seventh game he again took the Moldovan's serve and won the second set.
In the third set, the tennis players won games on their serves until the seventh, when Djokovic broke and took a 4:3 lead. He kept his advantage and after the second match point he advanced to the second round.
The four-time champion of the US Open will play in the second round against his compatriot, the 109th tennis player in the world, Laszlo Djere.
