The number one tennis player in the world, Janik Siner, defeated Danilo Medvedev last night (3:1) and for the first time in his career he reached the semi-finals of the US Open.
Siner will play against Draper in the semi-finals, while the other semi-final pair consists of Fritz and Tijafo, so the Italian is the only remaining tennis player who has won a Grand Slam in his career.
"I don't feel like a big favorite. Everyone who reached the semifinals did so fully deservedly. Against every opponent, you have to approach the same, find a solution. That's what I do. "Difficult match. We know each other very well. There were many challenging situations. But the fact that I started the first and third sets with a break helped a lot. I am very happy about the victory.
In the semi-finals, he will play against Dzeko Draper.
"We've known each other for a long time. It will be a tough match, he hasn't lost a set yet. He plays well, serves well. And he hits the ball very hard. It will be interesting," said Siner.
