The world's top-ranked tennis player, Polish Iga Švjontek, announced today that she is ending her collaboration with her former coach Tomas Viktorovski.
"After three years of the greatest success in my career, together with my coach Tomaš Viktorovski, we made the decision to end our collaboration," Švjontek wrote on Instagram.
During the three years of working with Viktorovski, the Pole won four of her five Grand Slam titles.
"Coach Viktorovski joined my team when I really needed changes. His experience, analytical attitude and vast knowledge of tennis helped me achieve things I never dreamed of," she added.
Švyontek appointed Viktorovski as her coach at the end of the 2021 season. He helped her win 19 of her 22 career titles, as well as Olympic bronze at the Paris Games.
Last year, Viktorovski was chosen as the WTA coach of the year by his colleagues.
