Novak Djokovic told Rafael Nadal that he will come to watch him in Malaga in the Davis Cup playoffs.
"Rafa, one post on social media is not enough to express my respect for you and what you have done for the sport. You have inspired millions of kids to start playing tennis and I think that is the greatest achievement anyone could wish for. Your perseverance, sacrifice and fighting spirit will serve as an example in the coming decades. Your legacy will live on forever. Only you know what you had to go through to become a legend of tennis and sports in general. Thank you for pushing me to my limits so many times. Our rivalry had the biggest impact on me as a player," Djokovic wrote on his Instagram.
Spain will play against the Netherlands in the quarterfinals, Serbia did not qualify for the playoffs this year.
"You have always played for Spain with a special passion. I wish you the best farewell from Malaga in the Davis Cup. I will come and pay tribute to your brilliant career", wrote the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
