The International Tennis Federation (ITF) said that over 100 million people around the world play tennis.
The ITF report states that 106 million people played tennis at least once last year, which is 25 percent more than in 2019.
The ITF expects another 30 million players to join them.
The total number of women playing tennis increased by eight percent, but women playing tennis in 2019 were 47 percent of the total number of tennis players in the world, and now they are 40 percent.
The ITF announced that the total number of coaches increased by 13 percent and that 24 percent of them are female, while in 2019, women made up 20 percent.
ITF development director Luca Santilli said there was "no concrete reason" for the decline in female participation among players, and he expected the increase in female coaches to help attract more women to tennis.
