The best Montenegrin tennis player, Danka Kovinić, was eliminated in the second round of the Australian Open.
A long break due to injury, a drop to 1.289th place on the WTA list left its mark, if it wasn't visible in the first round when the Novak sensationally eliminated the 44th-ranked player on the WTA list, Lulu Sun from New Zealand, then it was against the 33rd-ranked player.
Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska didn't have many problems against such a Dane - 6:0, 6:1, in 52 minutes of play.
It was clear from the beginning that Kovinić was out of rhythm, in the first set she lost all three serves - two to nil, and even though she had two break points, she failed to reach the game.
It was similar in the second set, with the difference that she managed to win the game 2:1.
Regardless of the convincing defeat, her performance at the Australian Open and advancing to the second round are a great boost for Danka Kovinić for the rest of the season.
Her best finish in Melbourne was three years ago, when she reached the third round.
