Danish tennis player Holger Rune won the ATP tournament in Barcelona today, after defeating world number two Carlos Alcaraz 7:6 (6), 6:2 in the final.
Rune, the 13th ranked player in the world, defeated the Spanish player in an hour and 40 minutes.
The tennis players each made one break in the first set, and in the 10th game Rune had two breaks and a set point that he did not use.
The set went to a tiebreak in which the Dane won 8:6.
In the second set, Rune broke Alkaras twice and thus won the fifth ATP title of his career.
This is also his first title since April 2023, when he celebrated in Munich.
