Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, six-time Rome Masters champion, will not participate in the upcoming 1000 series tournament in the Italian capital, organizers announced today.
"Novak Djokovic has announced that he will not participate in the Rome Masters," organizers announced on social media, without providing details.
The former world number one is now ranked fifth on the ATP list, and since the start of the clay court season, he has suffered two losses in the opening rounds at the Masters in Monte Carlo and Madrid.
The Rome Masters takes place from May 7th to 18th, and the men's title is being defended by German tennis player Alexander Zverev.
