On the day he celebrated his 38th birthday, Novak Djokovic showed that he is slowly regaining the desired form for Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.
The Serbian tennis player advanced to the semifinals of the ATP tournament in Geneva, after defeating Italian Matteo Arnaldi - 6:4, 6:4.
One of the best tennis players of all time thus avenged Arnaldi for his defeat in Madrid a little less than a month ago when the score was 6:3, 6:4.
A break in the third game was enough for Novak to take the lead in the first set, and in the second he had to break his racket to turn the tables.
Arnaldi, in fact, had a break advantage in the second part of the game and led 4:1 - it was after the 5th game that he vented his anger and obviously let out negative energy.
Epilogue - won five straight games, confirming his place among the top four in the tournament.
Djokovic's next rival is the winner of the duel between Aleksei Popirin and Cameron Norrie, and the other semifinal pair is made up of Hubert Hurkacz and Sebastian Offner.
