World number seven Italian Lorenzo Muzzetti advanced to the semifinals of Roland Garros today, after defeating American Frances Tiafoe 6:2, 4:6, 7:5, 6:2 after four sets.
He defeated the 16th ranked player on the ATP list after two hours and 50 minutes.
Muzetti broke his opponent's serve five times, allowing one break point to the American.
Muzeti's best result so far at Roland Garros was reaching the fourth round, in 2021 and 2023.
In the semifinals, Muzetti will play against the better team from the Paul-Alcaraz duel.
