After his victory over Flavia Cobolli, Novak Djokovic said that it means a lot to him to be playing in the Wimbledon semifinals at the age of 38.
The Serbian tennis player defeated the Italian in four sets.
"Wimbledon will always be the most special tournament in our sport, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many other players. It means a lot to me that at 38 years old I am playing in the final phase of Wimbledon. Competing with young people makes me feel young myself," said Djokovic after reaching a record 14th semi-final of the London Grand Slam.
Djokovic will face Janik Siner in the semifinals.
"Speaking of young players, I'm playing against Siner now and I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great duel," Djokovic added.
Novak praised Koboli.
"He's a very talented player, definitely one of the guys we'll be watching in the future, so I wish him and his team all the best," Djokovic said.
He also reflected on the fall at the very end of the match when he was lucky not to get injured.
"It was an awkward fall, but that's what happens on grass. It was expected that I would fall given how I move and slide on the grass. It came at an awkward moment, but I managed to finish the match."
The men's semi-finals at Wimbledon are on Friday. Djokovic and Siner will meet, as well as Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz.
