The two-time Wimbledon champion has a chance to conquer London for the third time.
Carlos Alcaraz is in the final, awaiting the winner of the Janik Siner - Novak Djokovic derby, after defeating the excellent Taylor Fritz in four sets.
The Spaniard won 6:4, 5:7, 6:3, 7:6.
A break in the first game was enough for Alcaraz to take the lead in sets, but in the second, the world's fifth-ranked tennis player showed that he could match the favorite.
The American threatened his rival's serve and finally broke for 1:1 - he did it in the 12th game in which Alcaraz did not win a single point.
Karlitos quickly recovered and reached a 2:1 lead, and the fourth set had to be decided in a tiebreak. And it was very uncertain.
Alcarras led 4:1 with a mini break advantage, and Fritz responded with five consecutive points for 6:4 - he reached the set point, then faded away and allowed the champion to make three points in a row for the final triumph.
Alkaras celebrated for the 24th time in a row.
"I don't think about that winning streak. This is my dream - to play tennis in beautiful stadiums and in the biggest tournaments around the world. And most importantly - to enjoy doing it," said Alkaras.
He has a chance to complete a hat-trick at Wimbledon.
"At this moment I'm not thinking about Sunday's final. There will be time for that. I'll watch the semi-final, it will be a great match between Siner and Djokovic and I want to enjoy it because I'm a fan of this game," Alkaras pointed out.
