Novak Djokovic - Carlos Alcaraz, a potential semi-final pair of the upcoming US Open, was decided in the draw today.
The last Grand Slam tournament of the year begins on Sunday in New York.
World number one and current US Open champion Janik Siner is on the other side of the draw, and his toughest opponent in the finals, at least according to the rankings, could be German Alexander Zverev, the world's third-ranked player, whom he could meet in a potential semi-final.
Djokovic didn't have an easy draw, but he can't have one from the seventh seed position either.
In the first round, he will meet American Lerner Tijen, then he will face an "easy loser", and then much bigger challenges will follow.
In the third round, he could face the unpleasant Sebastian Korda, who is admittedly far from the form he was in a few seasons ago. In the round of 16, his projected rivals are Holger Rune or Frances Tiafoe, while in the quarterfinals he could meet Taylor Fritz - last year's US Open finalist.
Janik Siner will defend his title against Vit Kopriva, while in the second round he could face Aleksej Popirin, who sensationally eliminated Novak Djokovic last year. Potential rivals in the quarterfinals are Jack Draper and Lorenzo Musetti, while the most realistic is to play Zverev in the semifinals.
Carlos Alcaraz is facing domestic bombardier Reilly Opelka at the start, he could meet Daniil Medvedev in the round of 16, Ben Shelton is a likely opponent in the quarterfinals before a potential semifinal against Novak Djokovic.
