The most successful tennis player of all time, Novak Djokovic, started with a victory at the ATP tournament in Athens.
The Serb defeated Chilean Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets - 7:6, 6:1 and advanced to the quarterfinals.
This is a tournament organized by Djokovic himself, with his family, and which until recently was held in Belgrade.
As "persona non grata" by the Serbian authorities, Djokovic decided to transfer him to Athens.
And he did not disappoint the crowd at the OAKA arena, as he got revenge on Tabilo for both of his previous defeats.
Djokovic will face the winner of the duel between Portuguese Borges and American Spicieri in the quarterfinals.
His biggest rival in his quest for the 101st career title should be Italian Lorenzo Muzzetti, the second seed.
