Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud advanced to the second round of the Australian Open, after defeating Italian Mattia Bellucci 6:1, 6:2, 6:4 after three sets today.
Ruud, the 13th ranked tennis player in the world, defeated the 76th ranked player on the ATP list after an hour and 42 minutes.
In the second round, Rud will play against the 39th ranked player in the world, Spaniard Jaume Munar, who defeated Czech Dalibor Svrčina 3:6, 6:2, 6(5):7, 7:5, 6:3 today after five sets.
Canadian Denis Shapovalov also secured a place in the second round, after defeating Chinese Yunchaoke Bu in three sets 6:3, 7:6(3), 6:1.
Shapovalov, the 23rd ranked tennis player in the world, defeated the 120th ranked player on the ATP list after two hours and 17 minutes.
The Canadian will play against Croatian Marin Čilić in the second round.
Dutchman Botik Van De Zentshulp, Frenchman Alexandre Miller, Australian Rinki Hijikata, Frenchman Arthur Gea and Valentin Vechereau from Monaco also advanced to the second round today.
