Australian tennis player Alex de Minor advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in Melbourne today, after defeating world number 10 Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan after three sets, 6:4, 6:1, 6:1.
The world number six won after an hour and 32 minutes. The players won games on their serves in the first set until the last 10th when De Minor made a break for 6:4.
He was much better in the rest of the match, making two breaks in each of the next two sets and after the third match point, he advanced to the quarterfinals.
His opponent will be top seed Carlos Alcaraz of Spain. Alcaraz defeated American Tommy Paul 7-6, 6-4, 7-5 earlier today.
