For the first time in five years, British tennis player Emma Raducanu will play in the final of a tournament - the 30th player on the WTA list will fight for the title in Cluj today against Sorana Kirstea.
Radukana defeated Ukrainian Oliynikova in the semifinals (7:5, 3:6, 6:3), while Kirstea was also better than Ukrainian Singur (6:0, 6:3).
"A brutal match. A very emotional moment for me after so many years of not playing in a final. I'm not used to playing this many games in a row," Radukan said after the semifinals and reaching the final.
Radukana's previous final was in 2021, at the US Open, when she celebrated sensationally after starting the qualifiers ranked 150th on the WTA rankings.
But after that, there was a decline and problems, so the new final is an opportunity to regain self-confidence.
Radukan is currently ranked 30th on the WTA list, and if she wins the title, she would be ranked 23rd.
