American tennis player Tommy Paul won the title at the Houston tournament last night, after defeating Argentine Roman Buruchaga in the final with 6:1, 3:6, 7:5.
On his way to the trophy, Paul saved three match points in the third set, with the Argentine leading 5:3. The American then won three consecutive games to claim his fifth ATP title, his first on clay.
With his victory after two hours and 40 minutes of play, Paul continued the winning streak of American tennis players in Houston, following Riley Opelka (2022), Francis Tiafoe (2023), Ben Shelton (2024) and Jenson Brooksby (2025).
On the other hand, Buručaga failed to win his first career title.
