Ukrainian tennis player Elena Svitolina advanced to the round of 16 of the Rome Masters, after defeating American Haley Baptist 6:1, 6:2 in straight sets today.
Svitolina, the 10th player in the world, defeated the 25th player on the WTA list after an hour and eight minutes.
The Ukrainian will play in the round of 16 against Czech Nikola Bartunkova, who defeated American Madison Keys 6:3, 1:6, 6:4.
Kasper Rud also advanced to the round of 16, defeating Czech Jiri Lehečka 6:3, 6:4 after two sets.
Rud, the 25th ranked tennis player in the world, defeated the 13th ranked player on the ATP list after an hour and 20 minutes.
The Norwegian took three shots off Lehečki's serve, who made one break.
In the round of 16, Rud will play against the better team from the Muzeti - Serundolo duel.
