Polish tennis player Iga Swiontek advanced to the semifinals of the Rome Masters today, after defeating American Jessica Pegula 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
The world number three won against the number five on the WTA list after just over an hour of play. This was their 12th match and Švjontek's seventh win.
Svjontek will face the winner of the Elina Svitolina - Elena Rybakina match for a place in the final of the tournament in Rome.
In the second semi-final, Coco Goff and Sorana Kirstea will meet.
