Russian Mira Andreeva first finalist at Roland Garros

The Ukrainian-Russian semi-final of Roland Garros went to Mira Andreeva, who eliminated Marta Kostyuk in straight sets - 6:1, 6:3.

The Russian ended Kostyuk's 17-game winning streak, which she won in Rouen and then Madrid this clay court season, with a straight-set victory in the final over 19-year-old Andreeva.

"It was difficult to prepare, she won all her matches on clay. But now I'm happy because I'm on the last step in this, the biggest tournament. But, I knew I was playing against a big and quality opponent, I didn't think about the outcome and I was just maximally focused on my game," said Andreeva, who won the set for the first time and then the victory over Kostyuk.

The Russian, who is ranked eighth on the WTA list, is in her first Grand Slam final, and will await the winner of the match between compatriot Dianna Schneider and Poland's Maja Cwalinska.

Schneider is 23rd on the WTA list, and the Pole is the most pleasant surprise because she is the 114th player in the world.
