American tennis player Robin Montgomery won the first WTA title of her career today, after losing the final in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, without a fight to Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
Krejcikova, the 45th ranked player in the world and a two-time Grand Slam singles champion (Roland Garros 2021 and Wimbledon 2024), retired from the match due to illness.
Montgomery is ranked 484th in the world, and the 21-year-old tennis player won her first WTA trophy after qualifying. She lost only two sets during the entire tournament on grass.
