The Montenegrin women's pioneer national team achieved a big victory in the third round of the European Championship qualifiers - After a turnaround, they were better than Romania with 3:1 (10:25, 25:18, 25:22, 26:24).
Although they did not open the match in the "Hristo Botev" hall in Sofia in the best way, where they were stopped at only 10 points in the first set, Petar Koković's team showed exceptional fighting spirit and turned the match in their favor.
In the second set, led by Klara Đukić's brilliant play, the Montenegrins managed to build a significant seven-point lead (20:13) and safely bring the set to an end with a score of 25:18 to tie the sets.
The third set brought even better play from our national team. The young volleyball players were confident from the start, gaining a significant lead, 16:9. Although the Romanian team tried to catch up, the Montenegrin team did not allow a reversal. They won the set with a score of 25:22 and took a 2:1 lead.
In the fourth set, the Montenegrins continued their excellent play. On the serve of Sara Striković, who was extremely efficient, they gained a 20:12 advantage. However, the Romanians managed to equalize at 23:23 in the final and make the end of the set exciting. However, our team had a steady hand in the decisive moments, celebrating with a score of 26:24 for a 3:1 victory in sets.
Klara Đukić and Elena Jovanović shone in today's game, leading their team to their second victory with 21 and 20 points, respectively. On the other side, Gabrijela Bjanka Kuku was excellent with 37 points.
Our youngest volleyball players celebrated at the start with a maximum score against Serbia, in the second round after a great fight they were defeated by Bulgaria 3:2, and on Saturday at 19 pm they will face the Turkish national team.
