The ninth round of the Women's Volleyball Development League, which continued the competition in the newly formed competition of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro, brought victories to the four leading teams, including a great triumph of the second team Galeb in the derby with Gimnazijalec.
The round opened with a match between the undefeated leader in the standings, the Budva team, and the penultimate Albatros team. Coach Jevtović's team easily won after an hour of volleyball at MSC Budva, 3:0 (25:12, 25:17, 25:15), thus remaining on top with a score of 9-0. Jana Mrdak with 20 points and Đina Lekić with 16 were great for the hosts, while the only one in double figures in the ranks of Albatros 2 was captain Aleksandra Vučković with 10 points.
The closest to Budva 2 was Morača 2, which also celebrated in a similar way on our coast at the end of the round. It defeated the Academy team in Tivat 3:0 (25:15, 25:11, 25:16) and achieved its seventh victory of the season. Excellent distribution of points in Marko Blagojević's team - eight players won points, the most of which was Julija Milonjić - 13. On the other side, the most successful with six points was Miona Marić.
With a game in hand, just postponed with Akademija, Buducnost is right next to Morača. They achieved their seventh triumph of the season as hosts against Luka Bar 3:1 (28:26, 18:25, 25:16, 25:9). The first set hinted at an interesting match, but the second two sets were entirely in the hands of the Podgorica team, led by Jana Šćekić with 23 points. Anja Novaković had 12 points for Luka Bar. Luka Bar 2 thus remained at two triumphs, the same number as Albatros 2.
The third match at the “sea”, another in this round in which the coastal teams found themselves facing each other at the net, was the most exciting – in it, Galeb defeated the Gimnazija team 3:1 (25:20, 26:24, 25:27, 25:18) in Bar and joined the teams in the upper half of the table. An hour and a half of volleyball at the Bar Gymnasium “Niko Rolović” brought 190 points, and the most of them was won by Galeb player Andrea Glavanović – 22. Together with captain Sara Striković, who had only one point less, she led the “galebs” to victory over the Kotor team, among whom Ksenija Dubravčević stood out with 17 points.
In the next round of the Development League, we will have a derby between the leading teams in the table in Podgorica, and by the end of the competition, Budva will also play against the team Buducnost.
