The previous week, when it comes to Montenegrin volleyball players abroad, was marked by a regional derby in which our national team participated. Coach Jovo Caković is certainly pleased with the good form of our girls, who significantly influenced the successful results of their teams over the weekend.
The focus of our public, as well as the regional public, was the match between the Slovenian Gen-I volleyball team and the Zagreb Mladost team in the 3rd MEVZA League tournament. The Zagreb team celebrated in Nova Gorica after a 3:2 comeback, securing the play-offs in which Montenegrin clubs will also play from next season, and leaving the Slovenian representative in fifth place. One of the most efficient players in the match was Nevena Vukčević, who scored 21 points, two less than her teammate Polona Frelih, and Žana Godec finished the match with 19, which was not enough to defeat the Zagreb team. Simona Petranović played in the second, fourth and fifth sets for the Croatian champions, and the match ended without points.
Vukčević continued her good rhythm in the Slovenian championship, where another good game of hers was not enough for Gen-I Volley to win. The team from Nova Gorica lost to Luka Koper 3:1, Nevena had 14 points.
In the Croatian Super League, Mladost's 10th victory – the team from the capital defeated Nebo 3:0, with Simona Petranović resting in that match. Mladost is second behind city rival Dinamo, which has all 11 victories.
Another great game was played by our middle blocker, Saška Đurović, who is Sporting's main player at the net. The Lisbon team was safe against Braga 3:0 in the 18th round of the 1st Division, and the Montenegrin national team player contributed 15 points to her team's 15th victory in the championship with an excellent 67% of successful attacks.
Danijela Džaković also counted 15, leading Mili Avijasija to a big victory over the Azerbaijani championship leader, Absheron. Danijela's team won in four sets.
Montenegrin goalie Nikoleta Perović and her Ted Kolejliler had a mediocre performance in the Turkish First League. After losing 3:1 at home to Ibanka, the Ankara team celebrated a 3:0 away win over ALS. In the team's 11th triumph, important in the fight for promotion to the Efeler League, Perović scored nine points, in the match against Ibanka she scored __ points.
Our middle blocker Katarina Budrak's Bordeaux is in great shape. She has only won in 2025, and including the French Cup, she has five victories in a row. The last one was in the 19th round of the championship against Cannes 3:0, in which the Montenegrin national team player won 11 points with 54% of successful attacks. Bordeaux is advancing in the play-off zone at an excellent pace.
The six-game winning streak was ended by Lugoš, who were defeated by Constanta 20:1 in the 3th round of the Romanian A1 division. Our Mina Dragović had 10 points for Lugoš, and her team is fifth in the standings with 13 wins.
The team led by the Montenegrin senior women's coach, Jovo Caković, had a successful 15th round of the Serbian Super League. His Jedinstvo won against Crvena Zvezda 3:1 in Stara Pazova, for which our young middle blocker Staša Mitrović played in three sets and won three points. Lara Jovović and Darja Popović did not play in their teams' defeats. Srem lost to Ub and Omladinac to Jedinstvo from Užice, both matches brought four sets.
In the 14th round of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League, Banja Luka, our Teodora Rakočević suffered a 3:0 defeat to the Gacka team, and the Montenegrin middle blocker did not receive any minutes at the net.
