The twelfth round of the EPCG Women's Volleyball Super League was marked by dominant victories by the leading three teams, a major upset by the Academy in the Boka Kotorska derby, and an uncertain match in Bijelo Polje, writes Odbojka.me.
The most exciting match and the only one with five sets concluded the round. In it, Akademija turned the tables for the second time in the last four rounds after being two sets behind, and this week's feat was achieved in the boccia derby away to Gimnazijalac. The women from Tivat celebrated 3:2 (22:25, 13:25, 25:16, 25:20, 15:9), confirming that they entered 2025 in a great rhythm.
Although weakened by the absence of one of the best players, the injured Majda Čakar, Milan Marković's team won 100 points in the Kotor gymnasium, five more than their local rival, and caught up with them in the standings at a score of 4-8. Until their fourth triumph, the Academy was led by four volleyball players with double figures - Maša Milošević had 16 points, Lina Milivojević 14, Teodora Stanković one point less, and Dunja Ćupić finished the match with 11 points.
For Gimnazijalac, the double-digit duo combined for almost 50 points - Matea Kovačec 25, Tajane De Souza 22, which was not enough to break the negative streak in 2025.
In just over 50 minutes of volleyball at SC “Igalo”, Herceg Novi defeated Morača 3:0 (25.15, 25:11, 25:14) and although the match brought only 115 points, it had three players in double figures - Ralitsa Vasileva shone with 20 points, Ana Marija Galić won 14 and the young Montenegrin national team player Gordana Madžgalj 10. Morača had six points from Anastasija Bogojević, five from Anastasija Kiprivica. The team from Novi continued and won their second match this week without losing a set, and retained first place ahead of Luka Bar with a point more.
And the “sirens” were relentless - in the opening round of the 12th EPCG Super League, they defeated the hot Albatros, also in a quick win, 3:0 (25:15, 25:18, 25:14). The service receivers of Vladimir Milačić's team had a great night - captain Dušanka Petrović won 14 points, Teodora Čavić had 10, and setter Dijana Vuković finished the game with nine points. For Albatros, who suffered their first defeat after four consecutive victories, Viktorija Položevec had seven points, and Amina Musić won six.
The volleyball players of Buducnost continued in a great rhythm, their wings only growing from the triumph over the undisputed champion in the first round in 2025. Luka Bogojević's girls recorded their third triumph in a row against the fallen champion, the Galeb team, 3:0 (25.18, 25:11, 25:16). Until their 10th victory in 12 rounds, the blue and whites were led by Lana Rakočević with 12 and Milena Ćetković and Klara Đukić with 11 points each. Natalija Vlaović had nine on the other side, a point more than Sara Striković.
The only match of the round in the north of Montenegro brought the biggest surprise. Jedinstvo defeated the Budva team, 3:1 (25:19, 23:25, 25:16, 26:24) in a match in which the guest team was close to a tie-break. A great duel was played by the team from Bjelopolje and Budva, and in the end, Mladen Miladinović's team celebrated a great triumph that tied them with Morača in 8th place. After more than an hour and a half of fighting and after almost 200 points with a great series in the most important moment of the fourth set, the team from Bjelopolje managed to conclude the match. They were led by Ivana Šebek with 20 points and Andrijana Merdović with 18 points, which was the most efficient score of the guests, Vanja Matunović.
