The Montenegrin U16 women's volleyball team successfully completed the second day of competition at the "Winter Cup of Nations" in Pordenone with a convincing victory against the Italian team PSG FB Tanks (25:12, 25:12, 25:17) and a triumph over Slovenia 3:2 (25:22, 20:25, 22:25, 25:22, 15:10).
On the last day of the tournament, they will face Germany in the battle for fifth place.
In the first match, coach Petar Koković decided to rest the starting lineup and give a chance to all the volleyball players in the tournament, who used that chance in the best possible way and celebrated without losing a set against PSF FB Tanks. Lina Milivojević, Mitra Gudelj, Tijana Laković, Jelena Ćorović, Jana Mrdak, Andrea Glavanović, Jelena Kosović, Tara Kovačević and Lara Tošić were great on the court and brought Montenegro its first victory in the tournament.
In a very exciting match, the women's U16 team of Montenegro defeated Slovenia after five sets. Although they led 1:0 (25:22), Peković and her teammates dropped the next two sets, so the Slovenian team took the lead 2:1. In the uncertain fourth set, Petar Koković's team managed to fight back and equalize with the score 25:22, only to dominate in the decisive fifth set and celebrate with a score of 15:10.
With this victory, they qualified for the match for fifth place, in which they will meet the German national team on Sunday at 9 am, which will be their last match at this year's "Winter Cup of Nations" in Pordenone.
