The season across the region and Europe is entering its final stretch. Several of our internationals have important roles in their respective teams.
Corrector Bojan Strugar played two great matches in the Romanian championship, in which his Craiova is one win away from third place. Strugar won 3 points in the first match of the consolation final against Zalau, 2:15, and a day later, also at home, had a phenomenal 24 points in a four-set victory. The third match, hosted by Zalau, will be played on Saturday.
In the Croatian championship, Mladost is one step away from the final, having won the first match of the playoff semi-finals against Centrometal 3:0. In it, our Đorđe Jovović scored 12 points, and young middle blocker Nikola Đurović did not score. The second semi-final match is scheduled for tomorrow, when Ribola Kaštela will try to continue the series with Mursa, having lost the first match at home 3:0, with 10 points from Vukašin Cimbaljević.
Centrometal eliminated Marsonia, our middle blocker Srđan Petrović, in the quarterfinals, after winning the rematch as the home team 3:0, then the golden set 15:11 – in the first game Marsonia won 3:1, and in the rematch Petrović had 7 points.
In the Serbian Super League, the quarter-final playoff matches brought a lot of excitement. Unfortunately, after three games, Karađorđe, led by our corrector Milutin Pavićević, ended the season after losing to Dubočica in the third playoff match. It was 3:2, and Pavićević won nine points.
Both Red Star and Partizan hosted interesting matches, and the match that was won by the team of our men's national team coach, Ivica Jevtić, was especially exciting. The red-and-whites celebrated 3:2 at Banjica and advanced to the semifinals, where they took the lead in the series with Vojvodina, with a 3:1 break. The second semifinal pair consists of Radnički and Dubočica, and the first match was won by the team from Kragujevac 3:0.
Matija Ćinćur and Alpacem Kanal, after a great league season, are chasing the grand final of the Slovenian championship. The first semi-final match with Kalcit went to Alpacem Kanal 3:2, with Ćinćur's seven points, and our midfielder won one point less in the away defeat 3:0. The decisive semi-final match is scheduled for tomorrow.
The leading teams in the regular season of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League, Domaljevac and Napredak, are in the new final. Both won their semi-final series 2:0, and in Domaljevac's second win over Modrica, 3:0, Jovan Delić had eight points.
Blažo Milić and Nemanja Peruničić are one step away from survival in the strongest volleyball league in the Czech Republic, after their Usti won the first two playoff matches against the team Dobričovic. In both games, the score was 3:0 for the last-placed team in the Czech championship – in the first game Peruničić had 12, and Milić did not get any minutes, which was the case with Peruničić in the second game, which Milić finished with four points.
Montenegrin coach Marko Joksimović, who wears the Al Sadd jersey, achieved a triumph with his teammates in the Amir Cup qualifying match, over the Al Kor team 3:0.
In the Qatar Cup, our coach Darko Prebiracevic's team, Qatar Sports, will play the semi-final match against Al Rayyan, one of the favorites to win the cup, which they achieved with a five-set victory at home, after an opening 3:1 defeat.
