Budva volleyball players took the lead in the final series of the EPCG Super League with a victory over Buducnost 3:0 (25:19, 25:21, 25:23), thus preserving the home court advantage with which they entered the playoffs as the best team in the league.
After two exciting sets, in which Budva chased the Podgorica team for a good part, the defending champion did not allow for uncertainty at the end. Dejan Radić's men had a four-point lead on several occasions during the first and second sets, which they failed to maintain in the face of the attacks of their more experienced rival, who gradually lost their lead and concluded the sets in a confident rhythm.
With a brilliant opening of the decisive part of the game in MSC Budva, Miljan Bošković's team made it clear to their rival, who was weakened by the non-play of their first star, Ivan Zvicer, that they did not want to allow a surprise at the start of the series, and in the point-for-point game, the host preserved the lead and eventually celebrated by using the third match point for 25:23, even though Aleksa Nikolić had a counterattack for 24:24.
Budva's captain, Balša Radunović, was the most efficient individual in the match, with 16 points. One point less was won by the young Vasilije Milenković, and Miro Miljanić was also in double figures with 13 in the ranks of Budva. On the other side – 14 points by Luka Lojić, Aleksa Nikolić finished the match with 13, and three points less was won by Miodrag Jelić. In the ranks of both teams, many young Montenegrin players got a chance, such as 15-year-old Filip Milosavljević for Budva, or a year younger Aleksa Radić on the other side.
