The Mediteran volleyball team won the EPCG First League of Montenegro title for the 2024/2025 season and will once again play in the strongest competitive tier - the EPCG Super League.
The team from Budva dominated throughout the season, finishing as the first-place team in the southern region of the regular season, with only one defeat. In the mini-league of the First League, Mediteran recorded all 10 victories, culminating with the last one against Mornar 3:1 (25:13, 23:25, 25:13, 25:19), the very team that inflicted the only defeat of the season on coach Ćorluka's team.
Anastasija Kovačević had another great game, finishing the match with 31 points, and in tandem with Milica Obradović, she carried Mediteran to promotion – Obradović scored 27 points, Mitra Gudelj was in double figures with 15 points. In the ranks of Baranci, Karolina Karavan had 12 points, Natalija Daniljuk had one point less.
The gold medals and the trophy for the winner of the First League were presented by Ksenija Božović, director of the women's national teams of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro. She also presented medals to the referee pair – Jasna Rosić and Vladimir Perazić, who administered justice on the court.
Second place went to Rudar, who will seek a chance to qualify for the Super League through a play-off match against the ninth-placed EPCG Super League team – Jedinstvo. The first match of the play-off will be played on April 22nd in Pljevlja, while the return match is scheduled for seven days later in Bijelo Polje.
As part of the 10th round, on Thursday, the teams Net and Rudar, and Tempo and Gorštak, will face off in a battle for the best possible position in the standings.
