Budva volleyball players took a 3-1 lead in the final series of the EPCG Super League playoffs by defeating Buducnost 25:14 (25:18, 26:24, 25:18, 2:0) at SC "Morača", so on Monday, in front of their fans, they will have the opportunity to win their seventh consecutive title.
In a significantly more exciting match than the premiere in the final, the team from Budva opened the match with a convincing first set, winning it in less than 20 minutes 25:14, and in the following match the home team announced that they were not thinking about giving up.
At first, they put up much stronger resistance to the dominant champion, but they were unable to equalize, as Budva won the second set 25:18, and then in the third set, Buducnost did not allow their rival a match point. Although Dejan Radić's young team was chasing a few points in the first half of the third period, they managed to turn around and repel the attacks of Budva, who were chasing the end of the match. The blue-and-whites took advantage of the second set point and won the first set of the series 2:1, 26:24.
However, that was all from Podgorica, as Budva, led by a once again enthusiastic Vasilije Milenković, managed to gain an early advantage, mostly maintaining a +4 lead and eventually closing the match with 25:18.
Vasilije Milenković was the most efficient with a great 26 points. For Budva, captain Balša Radunović had 17 points, and Miro Miljanić was also in double figures with 12. On the other side, Aleksa Nikolić had 13 points, while Luka Lojić scored 11.
The third match of the series will be played in Budva, scheduled for Monday, April 21st, starting at 18 p.m.
