The Montenegrin women's pioneer volleyball team qualified for the European Volleyball Championship for women under 16.
The Montenegrin team defeated their Romanian counterparts 3:0 (25:9, 26:24 and 25:22) in Maribor today, in the second round of the second qualifying round tournament, and with their second triumph, one round before the end of the competition, they secured one of the top two places in the group and a place at the European Championship.
The generation of players born in 2010 and younger became the first Montenegrin women's volleyball team to qualify for the European Championship.
Coach Petar Koković's team achieved victory and historic success after 75 minutes of play.
At the start of the tournament, they defeated Slovakia 3:0 yesterday (25:23, 26:24 and 25:16). The Montenegrin volleyball team will conclude the tournament with a duel against Slovenia tomorrow (17.30:XNUMX).
According to the regulations, two teams from each of the five groups of the second qualifying phase, as well as the best third-placed team, will play at the championship in Tirana and Pristina from July 2 to 13.
