The Montenegrin women's volleyball team has achieved a historic success! Our youngest volleyball players, players born in 2010 and younger, from first place in group A and without losing a set, have secured a place at the U16 European Championship. The Montenegrin women showed fantastic play at the qualifying tournament in Maribor, and the icing on the cake was a convincing victory over the host Slovenia with a score of 3:0 (25:17, 25:19, 25:17).
From the very beginning of the match, it was clear that Montenegro was going for the win – our volleyball players opened the first set with a 6:0 run and confidently maintained their advantage until the end for a 1:0 lead. In the second set, the Slovenians tried to respond and held the tie until the middle (16:16), but our great volleyball players then increased their pace, quickly pulled away to 24:17 and took the set in their favor (25:19).
The third set brought complete dominance by Montenegro. Our pioneers were unstoppable, taking a 13:4 lead, and the advantage grew to a maximum of 13 points (22:9). In the end, another convincing win of the set (25:17) and a big celebration for the historic placement at the review of the best European selections.
