The volleyball players of Perugia won the Champions League title for the first time in their history, after defeating Aluron Varta from Zawiercie 3:2 (25:22, 25:22, 20:25, 22:25, 15:10) in the final in Łódź last night.
The most efficient players in the Perugia team were Wasim Ben Tara with 22 points, Yuki Ishikawa with 20 points and Oleh Plotnitsky with 18 points.
For the Aluron Varta team, Aaron Russell was the most efficient with 25 points, while Mateusz Bieneck and Bartosz Kwolek added 12 points each.
In the match for third place, Poland's Jastębski Wegiel defeated Halkbank from Ankara 3:1 (25:22, 26:24, 20:25, 25:18).
