The Montenegrin volleyball team failed to resist the favored Slovak national team, which justified its role as a favorite in front of its audience and celebrated with a convincing score of 3:0 (25:16, 25:7, 25:13) in the last match of the second weekend of the Golden League.
Our team was behind from the very start in the Gopas Arena in Bratislava. In the first set, the Montenegrins managed to close the gap to just two points (11:9), but they did not have the strength to completely turn the tables. The more experienced Slovaks dominated and won the first set in their favor with a score of 25:16. A similar picture was seen in the rest of the match.
Coach Jovo Caković's rejuvenated squad could not find a solution to the home team's game, which was even more convincing in the next two sets – 25:7 and 25:13.
Nikoleta Perović and Darja Popović each scored five points for our team, while Saška Đurović had four.
The Montenegrin women have completed their second tournament with this match, and they are already looking forward to a trip to Hungary, where they will play the final, third tournament matches against the home team and Portugal.
