The women's pioneer volleyball team is participating in the Balkan Championship in Pljevlja from June 19 to 23, which will be a preparation for the summer event, which is the European Championship, which will be played from July 2 to 13 in Pristina.

The team led by coach Petar Koković is determined to show its worth on the European stage, after a great performance in the qualifiers.

But this team doesn't just bring sporting results - it also tells a story of effort, dedication and success in all fields, writes odbojka.me.

Of the 16 girls playing for Montenegro, six graduated from elementary school with a "Luča" diploma - Andrijana Moračanin, Marija Zlajić, Đina Lekić, Jana Mrdak, Minja Mišević and Staša Jovović.

Another six are honors students, which shows that this team is made up of girls who know how to cope with both academic and sporting challenges.

"That's something that makes us especially happy - that they, in addition to being excellent on the field, are also extremely responsible at school. We try to encourage such an attitude, so that they are hardworking, serious and good at everything they do," said coach Koković.

Their focus is now solely on volleyball, after successfully completing the school year.

"Preparations are going according to plan, there are no problems with injuries, which is very important in creating a team and ambitions for the debut appearance at the European Championship. We are going to the European Championship to fight, to play with heart and to try to win. We are not looking far, but we know that we can handle any opponent. The girls believe in themselves, they have built a real team spirit and that is the most important thing," says Koković.
