Pioneers traveled to the European Championship, in the premiere against the hosts

The Montenegrin women's pioneer volleyball team has traveled to Pristina, where they will compete at the U2 European Championship from July 13 to 16.

14 volleyball players are heading to the European Championship, and in addition to coach Petar Koković, the coaching staff includes assistant coach Nikola Radomirović, fitness coach Jovan Ristić, psychologist Andrea Laković, physiotherapist Mitar Andrović, and statistician Ismet Istrefi.

"After almost a month of preparation, it's finally time to travel to the European Championship. I would like to commend the players for their work throughout the preparations and I hope that we will translate this attitude into good play. We are waiting for a very strong rhythm in Pristina, 7 games in 9 days, and that is why I expect the contribution of all 14 players. We want to play game by game with the desire to measure ourselves against every national team that is on the other side of the net," said coach Petar Koković.

The Montenegrins will open the competition on Wednesday, July 2, with a match against the home team of Kosovo starting at 20 p.m. The very next day, on Thursday, July 3, they will face Hungary at 15 p.m. The series of strong matches continues on Friday, July 4, when they will face the Greek national team at 15 p.m., followed by a day of rest.

On Sunday, July 6, our pioneers will face Croatia at 12:30, while on Monday, July 7, they will play against the Czech Republic at the same time. The last two matches of the group stage will be played on July 9 and 10, when Montenegro will play against Turkey (15:00 PM) and Slovenia (12:30 PM).

The semi-final matches, as well as the medal match, will be played in Tirana, where the Group I matches are also being played in parallel.

Let us remind you that our youngest volleyball players achieved a historic qualification to the European Championship, after they were the only undefeated team in the second round of qualifications, held in Slovenia, without losing a set.
