Montenegrin coach Darko Prebiracevic is the new head coach of the Kosovo men's volleyball team.
The former coach of Qatar Sports and former head coach of Jedinstvo, has signed a one-year contract with the Volleyball Federation of Kosovo, succeeding the first foreigner in the history of national volleyball, Slovak Martin Nemec, on the national team bench. In addition to leading the senior team, Prebiracevic will also participate in the development of youth national teams, as part of a project initiated with the support of the FIVB, with the aim of improving Kosovo volleyball at all levels.
Prebiracevic won two double crowns with Jedinstvo in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons, and made a big step forward with Qatar Sports - he led the team to the semi-finals of the Emir Cup and fourth place in the local championship.
At the national level, the 45-year-old from Bjelopolje led the Montenegrin U20 national team, as well as the U17 selection, with which he participated in the 2023 European Championship in Podgorica. In parallel, he was an assistant coach to Veljko Bašić and Ivan Joksimović in the senior men's national team of Montenegro.
