The Central European Volleyball League is entering its 20th season, and in the jubilee year, Montenegrin teams will participate in the MEVZA League competition for the first time.
In the men's competition, our volleyball team will be represented by the two best teams in the EPCG Super League - champion Budva and runner-up Budućnost, and the Podgorica team will also have representatives in the women's competition.
Seven teams will compete in the men's competition - in addition to our representatives, there are also the Croatian teams Mladost Zagreb and Mursa Osijek, Slovenian Maribor, Austrian Zadruga and Hungarian Alba.
In the women's competition, the smaller club - Buducnost volleyball team - will have two Zagreb teams as rivals, Mladost and Dinamo, Slovenian Branik, Cypriot Lemasos and Israeli Hapoel Kfar Saba.
Tournaments in both competitions will be played during three "windows", with the final four tournaments planned for the period from March 3 to 5, 2026 in the women's competition and from March 17 to 19 in the men's competition.
The opening two volleyball tournaments are scheduled from September 30th to October 2nd in Budva and Osijek.
On the Montenegrin coast, the host Budva and the volleyball players of Buducnost will have Alba and Maribor as rivals. The third and fourth tournaments are planned for December 16-18, when Budva will play Alba and Zadruga in Bleiburg, Austria, while Buducnost will meet Mursa and the Mladost team in Maribor, in addition to the host. The final two tournaments will be held in Podgorica and Zagreb, from January 13-15, 2026.
Buducnost will host Zadruga and Maribor, while Budva will play against Mladost, Mursa and Alba in the Croatian capital. The top four teams from the joint standings will advance to the semi-finals.
The Buducnost volleyball team will make their debut in the MEVZA league in front of their fans. They will host Lemasos and Hapoel Kfar Saba at the tournament in Podgorica, from September 30th to October 2nd. They will also play in Zagreb during that period.
The next three tournaments will be held either in Maribor or in the Croatian capital, which will be confirmed later. Buducnost will conclude the regional league competition from December 16th to 18th, when they will play against Mladost, Dinamo and Maribor.
The hosts of the Final Four tournament will be determined after the second stop of the season, in December 2025. The first-place team will play the fourth-place team, and the semi-final pairings will be completed by the second and third-place teams from the same standings.
