The Buducnost volleyball team was defeated by the Cypriot Lemesos with a score of 3:1 (20:25, 25:17, 25:19, 25:17) at the opening of the MEVZA tournament in the "Verde" hall in Podgorica.
Coach Luka Bogojević's team opened the match excellently and took the lead in sets. At the start of the first half, they quickly gained a significant advantage (17:10), and although the guests threatened in the final minutes, Buducnost confidently brought the set to an end and took the lead with 1:0 (25:20).
The match continued to turn around. The second set was tied at 6:6, after which Lemesos took the lead. The visitors went to 13:11, then 19:14, which forced Bogojević to call a second timeout. The Cypriot team maintained control to tie the sets 25:17.
A similar scenario was seen in the third and fourth sets. Buducnost tried to catch up, especially in the third part of the game, when Klara Djukic reduced the score to 21:16 with three aces. However, Lemesos maintained the advantage and took a 2:1 lead in sets (25:19).
The blue and whites briefly took the lead in the fourth quarter (9:7), but the visitors responded with a five-point run and turned the score around to 12:9. They maintained their rhythm until the end and won 25:17, for a final 3:1 in sets.
The most efficient player for Buducnost was captain Mileva Magdelinić with 12 points, while Dušanka Petrović and Diana Crnojački each added 11 points.
In the next match, Lemesos plays on Wednesday at 15 pm against the Israeli Hapoel Kfar Saba, while Buducnost will meet the same opponent on Thursday at 19 pm.
