The draw for the EuroVolley 2026 for women's volleyball will be held on Saturday, October 4, in Bari, starting at 8:45 p.m. The four host teams – Turkey (Group A), Czech Republic (Group B), Azerbaijan (Group C) and Sweden (Group D) – will each have the right to choose one opponent from the 20 teams that qualified for the 34th European Championship based on their placement at the last European Championship and through the qualifiers.
The remaining teams will be divided into four pots, which will be determined before the draw, and the only debutant in the final tournament will be Montenegro.
The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro will be represented at the draw by the director of the women's national team, Ksenija Božović, and the media officer of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro, Danilo Petrović.
Our national team, which, by winning the qualifying group with Latvia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, secured a place in a major senior competition for the first time in the history of women's volleyball, awaits the draw in Bari from 25th place in the European rankings.
The teams that secured their participation in the tournament in the summer of 2026 based on their placements at EuroVolley 2023 are Serbia, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Slovakia. Along with Montenegro, the following teams qualified for the championship as group winners: Germany, Belgium, Slovenia, Spain, Greece and Croatia, while the five best second-placed teams in the qualifiers included Romania, Hungary, Austria, Portugal and Latvia.
The draw for the men's competition for the tournament, which will also take place next September, in Italy, Bulgaria, Finland and Romania, will also be held on the same day.
The European Women's Volleyball Championship will be played in Ankara, Brno, Baku and Gothenburg, from August 21 to September 6. The title is being defended by the Turkish national team.
