Interesting developments on volleyball courts across Montenegro - in the duels of the 2nd round of the EPCG Volleyball Super League, Budva and Buducnost encountered challenges in Bar and Niksic, respectively, while Jedinstvo was safely at home in the duel with Lovcen.
The champion celebrated 3:1 (25:27, 25:18, 25:20, 25:13) on the road against Mornar, who surprised the big favorite in the opening match at SC "Topolica". Ivan Dobrković's team, with a good start to the match, indicated that they would not allow the favorite to win points in Bar. They led 5:1 and 7:2, maintaining the advantage until the finish, when Budva seriously threatened and tied the match for the first time on a set point against Baran - 24:24. However, Mornar was rewarded for its good play and won the first set (27:25), but it could not do more than that.
The Budva players played better in the second half, the home team made more mistakes, and Miljan Bošković's team, led by Baran's Vukašin Cimbaljević, achieved their second triumph of the season. The national team's serve receiver scored 19 points, captain Balša Radunović and middle blocker Matija Ćinćur added 15 each, while on the other side, former Budva player Benjamin Hadžisalihović was the most efficient with 17 points. Lazar Cimbaljević finished the match with 12 points.
An interesting volleyball performance was seen in Nikšić at the Sports Center, where the volleyball players of Sutjeska put up a solid resistance to the Super Cup winner, the team of Budućnost. It was 3:1 (25:23, 25:13, 22:25, 25:20) for Dejan Radić's team, which after leading 2:0 fell to the attacks of Stojanović, Zvicer and Nikčević, but did not let go of the triumph.
Aleksa Nikolić had a great night with 22 points, while Luka Lojić was in double figures for Buducnost with 18 – along with them, four other players scored points, while seven volleyball players from Mladen Novović's team were on the scorer list.
The most efficient was captain Vladan Stojanović, while until recently a member of Buducnost Ivan Zvicer finished the match with a point less. Nikola Nikčević, thanks to an excellent third set, achieved a double-digit scoring performance with 10 points.
In Bijelo Polje, there was significantly less excitement. The Jedinstvo team was safe against the Lovćen team – 3:0 (25:20, 25:14, 25:13) in less than an hour of play. The points were distributed brilliantly in Dragan Mašković's team, so only two liberos and the experienced Minić, who was resting, did not enter the scorer list. The reinforcement from Budva, the young Petar Milosavljević, had 10 points, while Marko Šebek and Milika Mašković each won eight. For Lovćen, Strahinja Martinović had nine points, and Branko Stanojević six points.
