Budva volleyball players achieved victory at the start of the MEVZA league, after real drama and five sets against the i-Vent Maribor team with a score of 3:2 (22:25, 25:19, 25:23, 19:25, 15:6).
The first set was evenly matched until the score was 18:18, when the guests from Slovenia made a mini series and reached three set points with a lead of 24:21. The team from Budva managed to save one, but not the other, so Maribor took the lead 1:0 (25:23).
The answer came from the chosen one Miljan Bošković. In the second set, Budva controlled the game from the very beginning, gained a secure advantage and calmly brought the set to an end - 25:19. In the third part of the match, the Montenegrin champion led 13:8, but the guests managed to come back and equalize at 18:18. However, in the uncertain finale, Balša Radunović and his teammates had more concentration, who won the set and turned the score around to 2:1 (25:23). The Slovenian team then fought back in the fourth set, took advantage of the drop in the home team's game and equalized at 2:2 (25:19), which took the match to a decisive fifth set.
Then, the Montenegrin champion gained a significant advantage right from the start with a 6:1 series and routinely brought the match to an end, giving up only six points to his rival in the final for a final 3:2.
Budva will face Hungarian Mav Elor on Wednesday at 18 pm on the same field, while Budućnost will meet Maribor at SC “Verde” in Podgorica at 20 pm.
