The quarterfinal matches of the Montenegrin Women's Volleyball Cup are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. All four matches feature EPCG Super League participants, including matches between the top two teams, as well as the third and fourth-placed teams in the standings.
The duel between Albatros and Buducnost will be the start of the fight for the semi-finals. The match will be played at SC "Igalo" on Wednesday, November 19, starting at 6 p.m. It will be the first meeting of the teams that are in the top 4 of the EPCG Super League this season, and they will meet in the next round of the championship in Podgorica. After being free at the start of the Cup competition, both teams eliminated the Bar teams in the second round with maximum victories - Albatros team Galeb, and Buducnost Mornar. In the Montenegrin championship, both clubs have a score of 18-2.
The second match of the evening is in Kotor, where Gimnazijalac will host Morača at 7:30 p.m. It is interesting that these teams will also meet in the 9th round of the EPCG Super League over the weekend. The Kotor team reached the quarterfinals with victories over Gorštak and Tempo, and Morača also eliminated the first league teams – Grebaje and Barbana. In the championship, Gimnazijalac is on a three-game losing streak, while Morača has four wins and four losses.
The leading teams of the EPCG Super League and participants of the Super Cup, Herceg Novi and Luka Bar, will play for the third time this season. Each match brought exciting volleyball – Luka Bar opened the season with a 3:1 victory in the Super Cup, and in the EPCG Super League Herceg Novi celebrated at home 3:2. This was the only defeat of the "Sirens", while the champions won every league match. Herceg Novi, as the defending Cup champion, was free to the quarterfinals, while Luka Bar was better than Ibar 3:0 in the round of 16. The match in SC "Igalo" will be played on Thursday, November 20, at 6:30 p.m., with a broadcast on Adriatic Sport TV, as well as the previous two matches.
The last quarter-final match of the Cup will bring together Jedinstvo and Budva, who will meet in Bijelo Polje at 8 p.m. It will be the first meeting of these teams this season, as their mutual match in the 3rd round of the championship was postponed due to the busy stadium in Budva in October. The Bijelo Polje team secured a place among the top eight in the Cup by visiting the first league teams, Lovćen and Net, while Budva played only in the second round by the will of the draw and defeated Mrkojevići 3:0. It was the last match of the round of 16, and Miloš Marković's team was led to victory by Elena Čolaković with 14 points.
One match will be played in the quarterfinals, and the semifinal pairings will be determined by draw.
