Herceg Novi's volleyball team continued their successful campaign to defend their title in the Montenegrin Cup, reaching the semifinals of the most popular domestic competition.
The volleyball teams of Buducnost, Morača and Budva also secured a place among the top four teams. The semi-final pairs will be determined by draw, and the duels are planned for the second half of December.
In a rematch of last year's final, the team from Novalja defeated Luka Bar in the "Igalo" sports hall after a 3:1 turnaround (17:25, 25:21, 25:17, 29:27).
Herceg Novi was led by Julie Oliveira Souza with 22 points, followed by Tatjana Bokan with 16, Odete Ndoj with 11 and Aleksandra Gligorić with 10 points. For Baranci, captain Dijana Vuković was the most efficient with 20 points, Aleksandra Šćekić added 14, and Teodora Čavić 12.
Podgorica teams Budućnost Volley and Morača also secured semifinals, with away matches on the coast.
In another exciting quarterfinal derby, Buducnost defeated Albatros 3:1 (25:18, 25:21, 24:26, 25:19) and took revenge on Branka Obradović's volleyball team for last year's defeat in the same stage of the competition.
Luka Bogojević's team was led by the enthusiastic Diana Crnojački with 25 points, while Mileva Magdelinić with 14 points and Dušanka Petrović with 12 also scored in double figures. For Albatros, Anđela Stojković with 13 and Amina Music with 10 points stood out.
The Morača volleyball team recorded a convincing victory against the Gymnasium team 3:0 (25:22, 25:13, 28:26) in Kotor and secured a place among the top four teams.
Darja Popović once again excelled with 21 points, and Lara Jovović also contributed to the victory with 18. In the team from Kotor, Matea Kovačec was once again the most efficient with 20 points.
Budva also secured a place in the semifinals, defeating Jedinstvo in Bijelo Polje in the last match of the quarterfinals with a maximum score of 3:0 (25:21, 25:20, 25:12).
In just over an hour of play, the team from Budva found themselves in the semifinals, led by Đina Lekić with 14 points, Elena Čolaković with 12 and Jana Mrdak with 11 points.
For Jedinstvo, Marija Tuševljak, Andrijana Merdović and Marija Zlajić each scored six points, and Ivana Šebek had five points.
