The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) awarded awards to the best and most successful volleyball players and coaches in 2025.
At the ceremony at the "Vocco" hotel, the best female and male volleyball players of Montenegro, Saška Đurović and Vojin Ćaćić, who did not attend the ceremony due to club obligations, addressed the ceremony with video messages, and the awards will be presented to them at the first opportunity in 2026.
Saška won the Portuguese Cup with Sporting, played in the semi-finals of the championship, and this season is one of the best blockers in the championship with Porto. Ćaćić won the double with Ukrainian Epicenter, and this season he reached the final of the German Cup with Friedrichshafen.
Rastko Milenković, the most decorated player in 2025 in the national club league, received the award for the best volleyball player in the domestic championship. The Buducnost technician was part of the team that won the Super Cup this fall, and before that, finished the season with a double crown in the Budva jersey.
The double crown in 2025 was won by Melisa Cenović - the best volleyball player in the domestic leagues, for the third time. She once again led Herceg Novi to the EPCG Super League and Cup trophies, and with the Montenegrin national team, secured a place in the European Championship.
"It's an extraordinary honor for me, especially because this is the third time I've received the award - I can't say it's the best - maybe the first one was the best, but it means a lot to me - it means a lot to me, it's a great encouragement and motivation," said Melisa Cenović.
The award for the best coach in the domestic women's volleyball championship was presented to Buducnost coach Luka Bogojević, who reached the final of the EPCG Super League with the senior team and won titles with the junior and cadet teams.
The best coach in the volleyball competition this year is Miljan Bošković, who led the Budva first team to the double crown, as well as the juniors and cadets to trophies in the lower age categories.
The most promising young volleyball player is Anastasija Koprivica, who was the leader of Morača in the second half of last season, and this season she is playing great in the Budućnost team and was a member of the senior national team during this summer's preparations.
Vuk Stanojević is the most promising volleyball player after another successful season. The young serve receiver won the double crown with Budva, but was also a champion with the juniors and cadets, with awards for the best serve in the junior championship and the best player in the cadet championship.
The trophies were presented to them by the President of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Nikola Kažić, who at the beginning of the ceremony looked back at the year 2025.
"It's nice to summarize all the impressions since January 15th, when the first big victory over Serbia came, and then everything else when Turkey, Greece, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia - superpowers - fell before the young girls. All of this heralded a successful year, and the 'highlight' was the women's senior national team's placement in the European Championship. There was also a bronze medal at the Balkan Championship, but I repeat again - results are one thing, I think that with these good results we have created a very good environment for the further development of volleyball. Through sports diplomacy, we won the regional league in which our clubs play, we returned four representatives to Europe, I hope there will be more - and all of this brings prosperity to the entire volleyball community. I don't want to be too optimistic, but I think that there will be no winter in the coming years when it comes to results, because all these boys and girls have been under the patronage of the Volleyball Federation from the start, we have been working with them for several years and we only expect them to grow," said Kažić.
At the ceremony at the "VOCO" hotel, the new national team jerseys were presented, which were made by the new technical sponsor of the OSCG, the Italian company Errea.
The new kit will be premiered on the field during the U18 national team's zonal qualifying tournament in Podgorica, where they will seek a place at the European Championship.
