The independent state of Albania is 110 years old, and its Volleyball Federation is 80.
A grand gala academy marking the completion of the eighth decade of neighborhood volleyball was organized in Tirana, and the ceremony was attended by the President of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro Nikola Kažić and the Secretary General Ivan Bošković.
As announced by the OSCG, this anniversary represents a significant moment in the history of volleyball in Albania and the Balkans, marked by the gathering of representatives of national federations and sports dignitaries from across the region.
"The presence of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro at this ceremony further confirms the strong and friendly relations that our federation has with the Volleyball Federation of Albania and other federations within the Balkan volleyball family," it was emphasized.
"During the ceremony, the role of joint cooperation, exchange of experiences and support in the development of volleyball at all levels was particularly emphasized. Meetings and discussions with hosts and colleagues from the region contributed to further improving partnership relations and promoting future activities of volleyball organizations in the Balkans," the OSCG announced.
During the event, the President of the Albanian Football Association, Erlind Peljumbi, received special recognition for his leadership, and all guests confirmed their commitment to supporting the development of volleyball in the Balkans and beyond.
The ceremony was also attended by the President of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV), Roko Sikirić, together with CEV Director Vuk Karanović, FIVB representative Hiteš Malhotra, as well as the presidents and general secretaries of the volleyball federations of Italy, North Macedonia and Kosovo.
