Budva volleyball players traveled to Zagreb, where they will compete with Croatian volleyball representatives to seek a place in the final four of the MEVZA League.
With a half-point score in four games and five points, which is also the performance of the Hungarian MAV Elore, the Montenegrin champion awaits matches with the Mladost team on Wednesday, January 14th at 6 pm, and Mursa, a day later, at 3:30 pm.
"We have two tough games in Zagreb against Mladost and Mursa. We are aware of the importance of these games and we hope for a positive outcome and a place in the final four," said Budva's corrector Lazar Dodić.
And to place among the top four teams, Budva needs both victories and a setback from Hungary, whose team has Ivan Zvicer and Aleksandar Milivojević on the coaching staff. Middle blocker Matija Ćinćur believes that his team will do its part.
"A very important tournament awaits us, two good teams and two demanding matches. Again, everything depends on us, on our play, our commitment on the field and our chemistry. I hope that we will be at the level and that we will manage to qualify for the final tournament, because I think we deserve it," said the Montenegrin national team player.
Budva's further advancement would mean the elimination of Buducnost in the first season of our clubs in the MEVZA league. The Podgorica team finished the competition earlier, achieving two victories, namely over Budva and Maribor, and in the first round they lost a 2:0 lead and a match point in a duel with MAV Elore. The Podgorica team will thus support Croatian clubs, on which the fate of the "blues" in the competition depends.
On the first day of the tournament in the "Bojan Strajnić" hall, MAV Elora will play Mursa at 3:30 p.m., and the Hungarian champion will conclude the tournament with the Mladost team the day later at 6 p.m.
